WASHINGTON, DC (April 13, 2020) 鈥 Today, 杏吧原创 News and Northwest Federal Credit Union announced a community-based partnership benefiting Feed the Fight DC that will recognize and support essential personnel working on the frontlines in response to the COVID-19 鈥渃oronavirus鈥 pandemic. 杏吧原创鈥檚 鈥淔rontline Heroes鈥 campaign, launching Monday, April 13th, will select two nominees per day beginning April 20th聽and award them with $100 each. In addition, for every hero selected聽, a Washington, D.C. based nonprofit supporting local restaurants, health care workers and first responders. The program is sponsored by Northwest Federal Credit Union.

Nominated by 杏吧原创 listeners, Frontline Heroes will be selected based on set criteria; nominees must be essential workers in the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland (DMV) area currently reporting to work in the midst of the Coronavirus crisis. Heroes could include health care workers and staff, utility workers, trash collectors, grocery store and pharmacy employees, restaurant owners and staff, mail carriers, emergency service personnel and more.
鈥淔eed the Fight is proud to聽聽in our shared mission of creating a positive impact in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area during the COVID-19 crisis. Through the聽Frontline Heroes campaign, we鈥檙e working together to recognize essential workers and express gratitude for their commitment to caring for, supporting and protecting our community,鈥 said Elena Tompkins, founder of Feed the Fight.
Every dollar donated to Feed the Fight by 杏吧原创 will go back into the community and will be used to purchase meals from local restaurants that will be delivered to health care workers, police officers, firefighters and EMS personnel in the DMV. With the help of聽, Feed the Fight has purchased more than 10,000 meals for health care workers and first responders on the frontlines of this global health care crisis to date.

Feed the Fight
Feed the Fight crowdsources individual donations to fund food delivery from local restaurants and their staff to nearby health care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Feed the Fight operates as a partner fund of the Greater Washington Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
